Dwarf variety. Clump-forming perennial so named because its flower buds puff up like balloons before
opening. The root of balloon flower is used extensively in Asia as an anti-inflammatory in the treatment of
coughs and colds.  It is used in latent remedies and sold as platycodi commemorating it.

Buddleia (pronounced BUD-lee-ah), a genus that includes over 100
species and cultivars. Also called summer lilac, the medium- to
large-sized shrubs can anchor a perennial bed or form a hedge

flower clusters in early June.  Flowering goes on for many
attract a variety of butterflies to your property, especially
monarchs. Roots act specifically on the lungs as an
expectorant and anti-inflammatory. Valuable for all chest
complaints, including pleurisy.
